Add governance assessment criteria that can flag project task schedule delays (not just milestones).

For example:

The project is reporting overdue tasks

Success: The project has no overdue tasks and is on track.

Fail: The project has overdue tasks. Please update tasks dates or address delays to stay on schedule.

An overdue task on a critical path can jeopardise downstream milestones; identifying it at the task level gives PMs and PMO managers more time to intervene and ensure that the tasks is managed and the schedule is amended
